Frkašić is a relatively small village to the east of Bjelopolje located at the foot of the mountain range which separates Lika from Bosnia in this immediate area. It sits on the main road that goes south to Donji Lapac.
The difficulty with finding records for Frkašić is that most travellers would have stated Korenica as their place of origin. This page only includes records that specifically uses the village name unless the surname was only from Frkašić according to the 1915 Grujić survey.
Possible Relatives
For the early travellers the stated relationship with the person in the USA is somewhat questionable and can not be relied upon, for example, in the September 1900 arrival, Danilo and Rade, both 35 years old, are respectively nephew and uncle to Mile Ćupurdija. This is highly unlikely although almost certainly these men were related.
There’s a number of immediate family relations in the below records e.g. the older Rade Ćupurdija (born in the 1860s) and the couple Bude and Marija Ćupurdija.
